Parental Guidance
Helping children achieve their potential includes offering them the chance to use and understand computers and the internet. Children from disadvantaged backgrounds are much less likely to have computers at home. So some of the children with most to gain from IT have the least opportunity to use it. This is why NCH launched IT OK, to campaign for safe and equal access to IT for all children.
Parents Online
Parents Online has been created by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) to promote home school links by helping parents understand the role of Information Communications Technology (ICT) in learning.
Symantec Security Check
Check your computers security on the internet
ThinkUKnow
Give you general information about the Internet, including some of the things your child can do online.
Zen Security
ADSL represents a greater security risk to Internet users than conventional modem based connections because it is 'always on' and uses 'real IP addresses' to identify machines. This presents a larger window of opportunity to would-be attackers and gives them a clear target. With a dial up connection, you tend to be connected for less time (call charges) and most ISPs will NAT and Proxy your Internet connection, making direct attacks more difficult.
